BY R. Lu WOOLLEY
Wednesday morning as I aproach-
ed the office door I saw a note at
tached. One of the members informed
me that he had called twice and was
unable to pay his bill. He called at
5:50 P. M.
Please Note: The regular office
hours are 8:00 a. m. to 12:00 noon
and from 1:00 to 5:00 p. m. If you
are unable to come to the office dur
ing those hours mail in your remit
tance or advise me of what you wish
to talk about. If you call me, I will
be glad to meet you by appointment
at any time.
It is impossible to lengthen the
office hours without increasing the
personnel and the expense to the
members. State regulations regard
ing working conditions govern these
things.
We are now serving 31 new places
in the City of Boardman with several
more to take service in the near fu
ture.
Your board of directors met in the
regular monthly meeting last Wed
nesday and considered the current
problems of the association. At this
meeting it was pointed out that the
members receiving service had in
creased from 488 during the month
of May last year to 612 in May,
1940. Our consumption of electricity
has almost doubled during the same
period. These figures are just indi
cators of how rapidly we are pro
gresing.
We are still growing, not only
in numbers but also in our ability to
help ourselves by using electricity.
Almost every day some member is
adding some new electrical equip
ment to his premises.
Mr. Fiske in Umatilla Meadows
seems to be having difficulty with
his water pump. If some of the mem
bers near can offer a helpful con
structive suggestion I am sure he
would be glad to listen if it will eli
minate his difficulty.
