Holly has long been associated

known as the Inkberry holly, which
is very hardy even as far n o rth as

A. A. Laird was born in M innesota
| on Ju ly 1, 1864, an d came west in
1888. He m arried Ida H afer in ’89.
To th is m arriage eig h t children were
born. Mr. and Mrs. Laird and fam ily
came to Stanfield in 1919 w here
they lived u n til 1935. They then
moved to Oakland, Calif., and lived
th ere u n til Mr. Laird passed aw ay
November 7.
