Cushings Attend Funeral.
A fter spending several days in Sa
lem, Mrs. S tearn s C ushing Jr. and
d au g h ter retu rn ed to H erm iston on
T hursday m orning w ith Mr. C ush
ing. Mrs. C ushing had been called
to th e valley due to the death of her
g ran d fath er, George A. Nye who was
stru ck and killed by a tru ck w hile
crossing a street. Mr. Nye was the
oldest employee of th e S tate of Ore
gon when he retired some six m onths
ago.
