CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES
44 A RE Sin, Disease, and Death
/Y R eal?” was the subject of the
Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of
Christ, Scientist, o n ’Sunday, April
9.
The Golden Text was, " I am the
Lord th a t healeth thee” (Ex.
15:26).
Among the citations which com
prised the Lesson-Sermon was the
following from the Bible: "God
that made the world and all things
therein, seeing th a t he is Lord of
heaven and earth, dwelleth not in
temples made with hands. For in
him we live, and move, and have
our being” (Acts 17:24,28).
The Lesson-Sem en also in
cluded the following correlative
passages from the Christian
Science textbook, "Science and
H ealth with Key to the Scrip
tu res” by Mary Baker Eddy: “The
Scriptures say, ‘In Him we live,
and move, and have our being.’
W hat then is this seeming power,
independent of God, which causes
disease and cures it? W hat is it
but an error of belief,— a law of
m ortal mind, wrong in every
sense, embracing sin, sickness,
and death?” (p. 208).
