The directors also issued a call as

tificates plus accrued interest.
The gross sales of eggs on an
f.o.b. Portland basis totaled 91.922,'
000, while feed sales for the year
amounted to 9710,000. The associa­
tion shipped 230 carloads of eggs,
each containing 18,000 dozen, to
eastern markets, in addition to many
thousands of dozens of eggs shipped
to the California markets. The vol­
ume of eggs handled, was 12 per
cent less in 1938 than in 1937. Vol­
ume of feed sales was 25 per cent
greater.
The association’s headquarters is
in Portland and branches and re­
ceiving stations are maintained at
Eugene, Roseburg, Albany, Astoria,
Cottage Grove., Hillsboro, McMinn­
ville, Oregon City, Salem and Junc­
tion City.
In 1937 a large modern feed mill
was constructed in Portland, where
feed is manufactured for distribu­
tion to the various branches. Ex­
tensive improvements were also
made in the plants at Portland and
Eugene. Plans are being drawn tor
the erection of a new building in
Albany this spring.
The association employs over 100
people in Portland and about 50 per­
sons in the branches.
