TOURISTS INCREASED
Secretary of State Earl Snell an­
nounced today that the increase in
tourist registrations in 1936 exceed­
ed the previous year by 40 per cent.
This is an even greater pick-up in
registrations than anticipated earl­
ier in the year.
More than 140,000 motor vehicles
from other states entered Oregon
during 193*. which was a substan­
tial gain over the registration of
100,300 cars In the preceding year.
Final 1936 tabulations are still be­
ing received from registrars through
out the state, but an Increase
