week end as a guest of his two sons

Mrs. Gerald White underwent an
operation for appendicitis in St. An­
thony’s hospital in Pendleton Mon­
day morning and is reported as get­
ting along nicely. Mr. White’s mo­
ther of Lexington is staying with
him here.

Miss Betty Corlin of Denver is
the house guest of her aunt Mrs. L.
C. Dyer. She returned with Mrs.
Dyer last week when she came from
a trip to Colorado where she was
called by the illness and death of
her sister.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Preston of
Hillsboro, Ore., were guests at the
T. G. Martin home on the Sunrise
ranch near Stanfield from Thursday
of last week until Tuesday. The
Prestons make an annual trip to
this project during the hunting sea­
son.

Moore entertained members of the
school faculty Tuesday night in
their apartments at the Hanby resi-
dence when they carried out the
election motif. The red. white and
blue color scheme was used in this
patriotic party and Mr. Burrle and
Mr. Kersbergen were placed in the
position of candidates. Mr. Burrle
won the election on the democratic
ticket. The patriotic motif was car­
ried out in the refreshments served
at a later hour.

H. Gates. Gerald is employed as
chemist for the Oregon Pulp
