brother-in-law and family, Mr. and
Mrs Barney Endrice at Chevella,
Wn.
Mr. and Mrs. F. Ferol, who have
been visiting relatives in Idaho, re­
turned home the last of the week.
Chester Wilson has been ill the
past week.
Mr. Goodwin and daughter of Pa­
rina, Idaho, visited Mrs. Nora Wil­
son Saturday and Sunday.
Nelly Leicht and Florene Brace
have returned home from Spokane
where they have been attending
Kinman business college.
Lola and Barbara Berry of Uma­
tilla are visiting their grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Emmett McCoy, this
week. They are leaving for their
new home in The Dalles soon.
June Goodwin of The Dalles is vi­
siting her sister, Mrs. Russell McCoy
this week. Mr. and Mrs. McCoy vi­
sited Mrs. McCoy’s mother at The
Dalles last week.
Mrs. Theressa Teel is visiting her
sister. Mrs. Uley Paulson.
Mrs. Edwards of Portland is visit­
ing her sister, Mrs. Herman Dunn.
A. R. Boulware and H. C. Warner
were Heppner visitors Tuesday.
Earnest Bedwell left for Parma,
Idaho. Sunday where he is employed
for the summer.

children spent Saturday and Sun­

visiting her son, James Byrnes and
family.
Erma Byrnes, Glenn Ostrom and
Edwin Jenkins spent Monday in
Pendleton on business.
Mr. and Mrs. John Quick and
daughter Joan spent Sunday in Pen­
dleton visiting.
Mr. and Mrs. James Byrnes and
daughter Joan. Mrs. Don Harry-
man and Mrs. V. D. Bramer and son
James, spent Memorial day in Wal­
la Walla.
Mrs. Clinton Harvey of Portland
spent the week end with her sister,
Mrs. Van Schoiack. Other guests
over Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. L.
Shanks of Yakima, John Peterson of
Yakima, Art Peterson of Willows,
and James Berwick of The Dalles.
Bill Bousquet is visiting relatives
in Asotin, Wn.
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Eddy, Yvonne
Bousquet, Harold Edwards, Gene
Hiatt and Delbert Van Schoiack are
working in the pea fields at Athena.
Mrs. William Switzler, Mrs. A. B.
Stephens, Mrs. Katherine Sherlock
and daughter Ann Mary and Rosa­
line Lennox spent Saturday in Wal­
la Walla.
Miss Dorothy Macintosh of Port­
land stopped Friday at the Harry
Hull home enroute to her home from
a week's vacation at Ukiah. She ac­
companied Mr. and Mrs. Hull to
Portland Saturday where they visi­
ted until Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. George Kendler and
daughter Yvonne who have been
making their home in Hermiston
where Mrs. Kendler operates a beau­
ty shop, have moved to their home
here. Mrs. Kendler drives back and
forth to her work in Hermiston.
Mrs. Stella Edwards left this
week for Montana where she wil
visit her daughter for the summer.
Melvin Jenkins and Roscoe Wil­
liams spent Saturday in Walla Wal­
la.
Miss Clara Corrigan and Sara Rix
left Friday for Portland to visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugeue Smith and
children of Lyle. Wn., spent Memor­
ial day here.
Mrs. Ida Means and daughters of
Portland spent Saturday here at the
Clarence Powell home.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Tucker and
children motored to Kennewick Sat­
urday.
Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Miller and
sons of Kennewick moved into the
Tippie home Sunday. Mr. Miller is
a truck driver for Consolidated line.
Miss Virginia Compton of Board­
man is visiting Miss Betty McKen­
zie.
Mrs. Harriet Ford came home
Sunday from Southern Oregon where
she has been teaching school.
Miss Josephine Connell spent the
week end at her home here from her
work In Portland.
Mrs. Tom Tucker anil Mrs. El­
more McKenzie and daughter Betty
motored to Pendleton Friday.
Rev. and Mrs. H. B. Thomas re­
turned Saturday from a week in
Twin Falls, Idaho. Marietta and Lee
Thomas remained in Halfway to vi­
sit friends.
The Umatilla baseball team mo­
tored to Stanfield Sunday where the
game was called a tie.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Kimberling
left Friday for Eugene to visit Mrs.
Kimberling's father.
Mr. and Mrs. M. M. McCullough
and daughter Rosemary of Pasco vi­
sited in Umatilla Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Harryman and
Mrs. James Byrnes spent Tuesday in
Pendleton.
George Kendler left Tuesday even­
ing for Walla Walla where he will
be employed by Jones Scott for
about two months.
Mr. and Mrs. Lew Brownell spent
Saturday in Pendleton.
Edith have moved onto the Royal
Rands place west of town.
I. Skoubo is having a well drilled
on his place west of town by the
hiway, and expects to build there in
the near future.
A new broom factory opened up
in the Murchie building under the
management of Wm. Consodine.
Alvie Mefford and family of Wa­
pato. Wn., and Al Macomber and
family of Heppner, spent the week
end here with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Nate Macomber mo­
tored to Grandview Sunday. Mr.
Macomber's mother and sister re­
turned with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Black and sons re­
turned home Thursday evening af­
ter spending a week in the valley.
While there they attended the gra­
duation exercises of their daughter
Naoma, who returned home with
them.
