Today we recommend that every owner of an automatic
refrigerator learn about the new 1936 Kelvinator. It has
three outstanding, vital, fundamental things that the buyer
of a refrigerator has always wanted.
Viaible Cold; safe temperatures in the food compartment,
proved by a Built In Thermometer, so there can be no doubt
about bow cold it is.
Visible Economy; the 1936 Kelvinator uses from one-
third to one halt as much current as many refrigerator»
now in use as shown in advance by a signed Certificate
of Low Cost of Operation.
\ uubte Protection; a 5-year Protection Plan, written
and signed by the oldest company in the industry.
The new Kelvinator is the only refrigerator that gives
you flexible rubber grids in all ice trays. It offers you a
wealth of conveniences such as automatic defrosting switch,
interior electric light, and many others.
We want you to see the 1936 Kelvinator whether you
now have an electric refrigerator or not, and let us tell
you how you can have one in your home for as little as
l5ç a day. Come in tomorrow.
Townsend Plan
Today we are faced with a necessary social and tax readjust
ment. The steam shovel has replaced the spade. The tractor the
ox team, the seven-ton trucks the wheelbarrow, and electricty
with education and the ingenuity of man have created labor-
saving devices that have forced millions of men out of employ
ment. The results are that the purchasing power of the nation
is far below normal.
The ranch and the home is now carrying a tax burden that
almost amounts to confiscation, yet we are called upon to raise
more taxes that the unemployed do not starve. The social wel
fare of the nation has not kept in stride with industrial ad
vances.
I believe, before we can have “permanent" recovery, we must
change to a plan along the same lines outlined in the Townsend
plan.
Junior College
I favor two-year junior college in the high school, by the stu
dents paying a tuition the same as they do in the Universities.
This tuition would make these Junior Colleges SELF-SUPPORT
ING and make a college education possible for many a boy and
girl who could not afford to go away from home to a school of
higher learning.
Deficiency Judgments
I do not believe that a mortgage or loan company, after they
foreclose a mortgage on a farm or home, should be allowed to
take a deficiency judgment against the home owner or farmer.
I would advocate a bill to that effect.
Anti-Peddling and Small Truck Law
There is a law now on the statute books that prohibits fruit
farmers from trading producta with their neighbor, so that they
can better balance their load for market.
ill do my part to
repeal laws of thia kind and, introduce legislation that would be
helpful in disposing of the crops.
