Christmas is the day when all

ter, and the world in humbleat plac­

splendor is leveled down by a touch
of the Divinity that shapes our ends.

great victory in Michigan which will
add much to their good cheer for the
holiday season.

day from Rock Elm, Wisconsin,
where he took the body of his fath­
er, Ira Porter, some weeks ago for
burial by the side of bis wife who
