For years this bank has been known for its conservatism:
in fact, many people felt that often we were too conserva
tive; too strict in our observ nee of certain rules.
The spirit of the nation has changed from an attitude of
fear to one of hope and courage. All signs point forward
and upward. Aiding in this recovery will be the strong,
accredited banks of the nation: each one a tested and ac-

WESTERN ERA SCREEN
STORY BY ZANE GREY
All the ingredients that go to
make an exciting western picture—
speed, action, danger, romance and
scenic beauty — have been crowded
into "Wild Horse Mesa," the Zane
Grey film which shows at the Oasis
theatre Sunday and Monday, accord
ing to reports from eastern cities
where the picture has been shown.
The setting, named in the title. Is
a high table-land which served as
the last refuge for the greatest wild
horse herd in the west, descendants
of the blooded animals that had es-
aped from early Spanish explorers.
The lend, and the horses thereon,
belong to the Indians, according to
overnment decree, and the story
deals with the efforts of a band of
horse thieves to capture and sell the
wild horses.
One of the biggest thrills in the
picture, according to reports, is a
mad stampede of more than 5000
wild horses, a sight that will prob
ably never be seen again on the
screen. Other excitement is provided
by the wild rides over mountainous
country, gun fights with outlaws,
and the vengeance visited upon the
outlaw leader by Panquitch, leader
of the wild horse herd, for the kill-
Ing of his colt.
Marie Dressier and Polly Moran
are on this program in a comedy of
two old spinsters about to entertain
either the evangelist or a dangerous
criminal. To complete the bill there
is another of those delightful short
features starring Donald Novie, who
sings so beautifully, those heart
thrilling songs of old Ireland.
