m inds of th e H erm isto n Union high
Bchool and g rad e school boards when
th ey m et re c en tly to w ork o u t th e
p ro g ram for th e school y ear of 1932-
1933.
It Is n o t an easy task to fu rth e r
reduce a school b udget th a t has a l­
read y been reduced in every pos­
sible w ay, c u ttin g an o th er slice,
w ith o u t d elv in g in to facu lty s a la r­
ies, and school d ep artm en ts. T he
m em bers of th e school board w ere
forced to m ake th e red u ctio n of 20
per re n t In th e salarie s of th e lilxh
school fa c u lty ; also to m ake a fla t
a t of >110 for g rn d e school te a c h ­
ers, and to elim in a te th e m usic de-

expenses had to be cu t, an d th e
m usic d e p a rtm e n t w as th e second
elim in atio n . Miss D aily, as a d ire c t­

class u n d e r th e in stru c tio n of Miss
