The first forest ranger training
camp for the national forests of Ore­
gon and Washington will open at
Hemlock Ranger Station in the Wind
River Valley, southern Washington,
on October 1, Regional Forester C.
J. Buck has just announced.
This training camp will be atten­
ded by 32 forest rangers from 19
different national forests of the two
states, and will run from October 1
to 31. The men selected are the
younger, newer men in the ranger
force, who, the forest service believes
are in greatest need and who will
profit most from such a course. The
purpose of the camp is to train ran-
