The most up-to-t-o-mlnute market
Information ever offered turkey grow
ers In this state is being broadcast
dally from KOAC, the radio station
of the Oregon Agricultural college
at Corvallis. This dally service , will
continue until the Oregon holiday
turkey crop is marketed. KOAC is
now on 535 meters.
This phase of a comprehensive mar
ket laformation service being develop
ed by the extension service at the col
lege. Is obtained daily by wire direct
from the San Francisco office of the
federal bureau of agricultural eco
nomics. Received at the college late
in the afternoon as a summary of
supplies and prices In the leading
markets, the reports are put on the
air at 7 o’clock each evening and
again the following noon. Oregon
county agents are also supplying
local market Informgttion for this
service.
Other market news and economic
information for farmers is put on the
air through this station at 12:45 each
day except Suuday as part of the
noon broadcast and again in th» eve
ning at 7 o’clock. The faster' ser
vice now available is being used to
gather these reports, though it'ls hop
ed to have the government extend a
full loop wire service to the college
which would enable the extension
service to give Oregon farmers equal
service with that enjoyed by any In
country.
