EARLY SETTLERS PLAN TO
WRITE PROJECT HISTORY
C. E. Baker of Hermiston and D.
C. Brownell of Umatilla are plann
ing to write for publication a com
plete history of the Umatilla project
covering events since the year 1901.
Both men are pioneers on the project
and are well qualified to handle the
rather tedious work of gathering sta
tistics and facts for the article. Only
tentative plans have been made so far
and the actual work of production
will probably not be completed for
some months to come. The finished
product will be placed In the public
library.
Several attempted histories have
been written concerning the project
in the past but none of these have
been entirely complete. It is the de
sire of the present writers to present
4 thoroughly authentic record of the
project since its beginning.
