To earn money is one thing, but to save money is a more impor
tant thing. Many fortunes have grown out of pennies saved in
youth.
As a protection against destitution in case of illness or unem
ployment, saving has come to be an absolute necessity.
People who spen all they earn really live above their income
even though they may not be in debt!

Fight at Louvain Ended by Hoover.
Louvain, Belgium.—A message from
H erb ert Hoover apparently has pre
vented an inscription with the Latin
equivalent of “destroyed by Teutonic
fury” from appearing on the Louvain
library. W hitney W arren, American
architect, had argued th at the inscrip
tion should rem ain as provided in the
library plans, and Monsignor Ladeuxe,
recto r of the university, urged It be
eliminated. As chairm an ot the com
mission for relief in Belgium Mr.
Hoover granted the university full Jur
isdiction as to the inscription to be
placed on the memorial.
