Nearly a decade has passed since tjhe idea of building McKay
dam was first made. Next Tuesday this part of the state will
join in celebrating the completion of the big structure.
It is Just as true in the case of individuals that progress can
be made only as time passes. The wise use of both time and
money is a cardinal principal that must be practiced by those who
expect to achieve success.
Connections with a strong bank mean much to the Individual.
This bank stands ready to serve in the future as it has In the past
the needs of those who are building this big country.
FEW MINUTES spent in studying
motor car values before you decide
•d- Jk on your new car may save you
many dollars afterwards. That is why Gen
eral Motors wants to send you a finely
illustrated little book about the great Gen
eral Motors Proving Ground where cars
are p r o v e d by day and night tests, and
values are absolutely established. Every
car owner should have a copy of this free
book because it tells what points to look
for in selecting a car, and how to make
comparisons.
W ith this really interesting book, which
will be sent free as soon as you fill in and
mail the coupon, we w ant to send you
illustrated booklets about the General
Motors car which suits "your purse. You
know these cars; all are famous. But did
you know that they are all made by Gen
eral Motors ? Did you know that General
Motors, by building more than 1,000,000
cars a year, saves millions of dollars, and
how these savings are passed on to you in
better value, longer life for your car, and
a higher trade-in value when you are
through with it?

DR. DAVID S. ROWE,

“I Intend to go to McKay dam next
Tuesday and take my children to see
the formal opening of the darn,” said
James Hoskins of Stanfield while in
Hermiston Tuesday morning. “I
think we often neglect having our
children present at events such as
this one which has real historic sig
nificance In the development of our
country. I believe quite a lot of
Stanfield people w ill attend the cele
