Lovers of the sport of w restling got a run for their money In the bout staged here Saturday night when Farmer Vance returned to Herm is ton to try some more sam ples offer ed by the local bonecrusher, Jack Kennedy. Kennedy duplicated h is record established in the first bout oy sending Vunee back to Portland with only one fall out of three to his credit. The bout was snappy all the way with plenty of clean action offered, and fans praised the offering. Vance w as more cautious on his second appearance than when he wrestled Kennedy the first bout in Hermiston and watched his ligh ter, faster opponent all the time. The first fall w ent to th e Portland grap- pler in an even 30 m inutes and re suited when Vance snapped on a Boston crab hold that made Kennedy pound canvas. Kennedy worked fast for the next two faJls. He acquired h is first tall w ith a Japanese scissors after seven m inutes o f going. The third and deciding fall came In short ordei when he clamped on a toe hold that Vance was powerless to escape. A. E. Bensel was the third man In the ring, and his work proved satis factory to both principals and fane alike. A couple of figh ts that resulted in draws gave the fans some good entertainm ent. Lenhart and Earn- heart fought three short rounds and mixed all the way. Harry Hamnian and John N ew ell, both backfield men last season on the high school football team, w ent four rounds. The damage inflicted on the atmosphere by both men was much greater than either suffered from the blows of the other. V irgil Smith was third man in the ring for the boxing numbers.
