In the realm of blouse fashions the
attention of designers Is centered on
tunics and overblouses. The tunic
blouse shows a decided leaning toward
lines that are less straight and- severe
than those that have prevailed this
season, and the ovprblou.-e Is taking
on a little additional length. By
means of slashed seams, godets and
frills at the bottom, the tunic blouse
is widened below the knees. It also
appears with set-on panels ns In the
blouse of black satin pictured with six
panels fuced with brocaded velvet,
which covers three of the panels and
partially covers the alternate ones. A
few tucks at each side give a little
',eflnltlon 10 the waistline.

The only thing which relieves
the blues which most of us feel
at the first of the month is the
“salary” check, which Just

The Royal Zoological society which
runs the “zoo" In Regents’ park has a
new curator and one of the first things
he did when he Assumed office was to
put the apes on a diet of hardtack so
as to save their teeth, which were be
coming loosened on a diet of bananas,
potatoes, oranges and bread. The
trouble seemed to be a loosening of
the teeth like pyorrhea. The unwilling
boarders at the zoo take to the hard
tack and seem to prefer It to the soil
food.
