H igh Cost o f Spending
When you spend »10«, do you sto»
to think that your act on will cost
you about *(.00 a year for the rest
of our life?
It Is a fact. That’s what your
*100 would hare earned you, had
you kept It at ( per cent simple In
terest. That’s 50 cents a month; It
amounts to *60 In ten years;it is
*120 In 20 years, or *240 in 40
years. That Is what it costs you to
spend a hundred dollars now. Can
you see why people who save be
come wealthy? It is plain as the
nose on your face.

One day In 1010 a well-dressed man,
wearing a heavy overcoat, entered a
Jeweler's shop In London and asked
to be shown some valuable rings.
Those shown him, he said, were not
quite good enough, and he asked to be
shown another tray. As the attendant
went to get It he glanced In the mirror

his back was turned, and, to his
amazement, saw a long, hairy arm
suddenly come out of the customer's
pocket, seize a couple of rings, and
vanish.
Assistance was quickly summoned,
and the man and monkey arrested.
His rooms were found filled with all
sorts of valuable objects which bad
