treat, especially her comprehensive
criticism of Floyd Dell’s “Brlary
i’Bush” and Sinclair Lewis’s ‘‘Main
Street.” A spirited discussion of the
‘realistic novel and of current litera­
ture followed. Mrs. J. W. Campbell’s
paper on Ellen Churchill Semple will
'be read at a later date.
Miss Hoffman will be here Tuesday

A party was given a week ago for

the evening was spent in playing
cards and a very good time was en­
joyed' by all. Later the crowd left
and went to Mr. ind Mrs. John Grin-
ner and tho rest of the evening was

sandwiches, cako, coffee and salad
was served. The crowd consisted of
