of a pleasant surprise Tuesday even-
ing when the ladies of the study
club and their husbands dropped in
to remind him of his birthday. The
evening was pleasantly spent In vis
iting and games after which dainty

present who departed at a late hour
wishing Mr. Putman many happy re
turns of the occasion.
