Last Saturday night about sixteen
of Marion Steven’s school-mates gave
her a surprise party at her home.
Miss Marion is leaving as soon as the
schools are out, and this was a fare
well party. Dancing and games
afforded the entertainment of the
evening. About eleven o’clock the
young people were served with punch
and cookies. Every one had a very
good time.
Last Tuesday morning the Colum
bia bus, driven by Ted Hall, had a
blow-out about three miles from
town. As a result about thirty pu
pils had to walk to school. They ar
rived about ten o’clock.
Miss Elda Buhmann was absent
from school Monday. Elda spent
the week-end with old friends and
school-mates in Wasco, and did not
come back to Hermiston until Mon
day afternoon.

Least We Forget
Do you realize that the school year
is flying to an end? There are only
two weeks and three days until our
vacation will be hero. We may find
it very hard to keep at work when
the sun is shining brightly and all
nature calls, and easy to let our
minds wander to spring sports and
other diversions and to forget our
school work. We must keep up to
standard so that May 25 will not be
accompanied by sorrowful faces of
“flunkers.”'

Lumbago
This is a rheumatism of the mus
cles of the back. It conies on sud
denly and is quite painful. Every
movement aggravates the disease. Go
to bed, keep quiet and have Chamber -
Iain’s Liniment applied and a quick
recovery may be expected. Mrs. F.
J. Dann, Brockport, N. Y.. writes:
"I can honestly say that Chamber-
Inin’s Liniment cured me of lumbago
a year ago last summer. When I be
gan using it, I was flat on my back
in bed and could not turn to the left
or right. I had a bottle of Chamber-
Iain’s Liniment In the house and this
was applied to my back. It promptly
drove away the pains and aches,” Pd.
