county agents, last year effected a
saving to the members of *5.434.000.
according to reports made to the
States Relations Service, United
States Department of Agriculture.
The governing principle in all activ
ities on the part of county agents
sharing in cooperative movements
has been not to act as the direct bus
iness agent of. the farmer or an or
ganized group, but to assist farmers
in determining what form of local or
ganization is desirable and to secure
expert assistance, when available, in
organization methods. The county I
agent also helps guard the commun-
ity against over organization and
wherever practicable advocates the
use of existing agencies. The coop
erative associations which the coun-1
ty agents have helped form have had
to do both with production and dis-I
tribution and include cooperative
grain elevators, creameries, and live-1
stock selling associations.
Opening of The Play House Postponed
The management of the Play House has been
obliged to postpone the opening of Hermiston’s
new theater, unforseen delays in building opera
tions necessitating this change.
We can assure you that when our new theater
is completed the public of Hermiston will feel
amply repaid for their long wait.
Watch this space for further announcements.
