BROWNSON, MANAGER Patiits « O produce a better tire—a tire more re sistant to punctures, blowouts, tread separation — the perfect method is to build them, from the innermost ply of fabric to the tread, by hand. Made in this way each Thermoid Tire is the work, from start to finish, of one man, who is rewarded, not on the basis of how many tires he makes, but how well he makes them. A new wonder of chemistry The toughness and resiliency of Thermoid Tires is the result of the discovery of CROLIDE. CROLIDE is blended in scien- tifically exact degrees with each layer of rubber or fabric that goes into the tire. This makes the tread stronger and the fabric tougher. Never have we seen such durability or mileage so far in- excess of our ex pectations. You can depend upon 6000 miles of guaranteed service. (Ford sizes 7500.) Peter Wilkins. To the Republican Voters of Uma tilla County Athena, Ort., April 2, 1920. Believing that there is at this time unusual interest manifested by school patrons and the public in general In the public school system, and feeling that there should be more Americanism and love of coun try taught in our schools, and be lieving the Republican party to be of strong principles, I feel that the party should support one of its own faith for the office of County School Superintendent. Having made education my life work. I feel a deep interest in the upbuilding of our public schools, and of instilling into the minds of our young people the loyalty and love of country exemplified by our great Republican presidents. Our primary nomination law pro vides that any one aspiring to a place on the ballot may file inten tions with the county clerk by pay ing the necessary fee. and since I find no other Republican offering to run for county school superin tendent. I wish to announce my can didacy before the Republican i pri- maries May 21. If given proper consideration by the Republican voters In the primaries I will accept the nomination and make an active campaign in the general election in November. That the voters may know some thing of my qualifications to hold this Important office I wish to say I am a graduate of a standard nor mal school, have been twelve years In the state and have been teaching continuously, have degree of Bache lor of Psychology and Pedagogy from Valpariso, Indiana, and have studied in Eurpoe. Have Oregon life certificate, and have had the re quired amount of successful teaching 'n the state. Have held positions In the high schools In Milton, Athena and rural schools In this vicinity for several years I am of Republican tock, my father having been a gen- ral In the Union Army and staunch Republican. Believing myself fully qualified for the position and entitled । to the support of the party. and having faith in Ita decision, I leave it with the voters. H. A. BARRETT.
