Hawaiian Impartiality.
The old algaroba tree in the Catholic
mission grounds on Fort street is no
more. Parent of all algaroba trees in
the Hawaiian islands. It haa been cut
down to make room for a Knights of
Columbus club house. The word “par-
ent” la used advisedly, for one news-
paper. In reporting the removal of the
historic tree, referred to it as the “fa-
ther” of algarobas tn Hawaii, and an
other speaks of it as the "mother."—
