manufactured. Two other bids were

Livingstone Memorial Tree.
One of the most curious memorials
of Livingstone is the “name tree,” near
Victoria Falls, on the Zambesi. On
the trunk Livingstone cut his initial
and the date 1855 on the day of bis
first visit to the falls. In his book
giving an account of this Livingstone
says: “This was the only instance in
which I indulged in thia piece of van-
