Sapper, head of the hard- ware firm of Sappers’ Inc. in this city, on Tuesday of this week sold his improved 20 acre ranch a half mile west of Columbia school in the east end of the project to Harry E. Klock, a contractor and builder of Portland, who with Mrs. Klock came the first of the week and clos ed the deal. They were accompan ied by a relative. J. H. Schram, who also owns land here, and who for the time being will work the ranch for the new owners. Later Mr. and Mrs. Klock will move to Her miston and settle permanently In Columbia district. Birthday Party 77 FRUIT GROWERS TO HAVE THEIR INNING THIS YEAR A meeting of the apple growers of the project was held the first of the week, at which time a commit tee composed of Al. Robb, A. W. Prann and Frank Beddow was ap pointed to confer with different fruit buying concerns and sell to the best advantage. Fifteen carloads have already been pledged, and it is the opinion that these will bring in the neighborhood of 1800 to $900 a car, and maybe more.
