L. D. and Phil L. Lay were Pen
dleton visitors Wednesday. They re
port a very heavy sale of new and
second hand cars in that section. The
more popular makes of cars arc en
tirely out of stock with chances very
uncertain when the orders could be
filled. Lays’ Garage was able to get
the promise of only one Chevrolet

Oregon Jerseys Score Again
Geo. E Cressy, president of the lo
cal Jersey Breeders’ Association, is
in receipt of the following letter
from R. L. Burkhardt of Albany,
Oregon, secretary-treasurer of the
Oregon Jersey Cattle Club:
"You are no doubt aware of the
fact that Oregon Jerseys again have
demonstrated the fact that they stand
at the top. The latest event is the
phenomenal records made by the
cows Vive La France and Old Man's
Darling 2nd owned by Pickard Bros,
of Marion, Oregon. On March 24th
Vive La France finished her magni-
ficient year’s work which made her
champion cow of the breed with
many other trophies to her credit.
Her stable mate. Old Man’s Darling
2nd. finished just a month previous
a record which gave her the cham
pionship in the junior four year old
class. The jerseys of Oregon have
brought many other trophies of the
American Jersey Cattle Club to this
state.
“The Oregon Jersey Cattle Club
has decided to hold a Jubilee May
20 to 24. inclusive, commemorating
this wonderful work of the Jersey
cow. This Jubilee is to start in Port-
land with a program for the first
day. The rest of the time is to be
spent in an automobile tour visiting
as many of the Jersey herds in the
Willamette Valley as possible.
"You are Invited and urged to
come, bring your family, get your
machine into the procession as wc
expect to have at least one hundred
in line at all times."
