day from a short visit to the county
seat town of Pendleton.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Hamer of Minne
haha District returned Monday from
Sodaville, Ore., where they have been
visiting most of the winter months.
Herbert Sullivan, recently dis
charged from naval service, went to
Pendleton last Saturday, where he
took the examination for mail clerk
in the railway service.

urday of last week taking in the auto
show and transacting other business.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ballenger, ac
companied by the lady’s father, A.
Murchie of Wasco, visited with rela-
tives and friends in and near this
city Friday and Saturday of last
week.
Mrs. Geo. Lamberth returned home
1 hursday from Portland, where she
was called over two weeks ago on
account of the serious illness of her
brother’s wife following an attack of
flu.
George C. Ellison, a former resi
dent of this city, hut now operator
and owner of a large garage at
Dallas, Oregon, was here several days
this week tansacting business and
rent wing old friendships.
Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Bilderback mo
tored to Pendleton Saturday last to
attend the auto show and races. They
enjoyed the sights incident to the
auto display very much, and also the
auto races.
Miss Eula Ravencroft of Cedar
Rapids, Iowa, niece of Mrs. J. S.
West, visited here several days this
week. Her brother Frank, who has
been stopping at the West home for
some time, accompanied her east.
