Sunnyside, Wash, was away several
days this week looking after his prop
erty,
James Winslow and Oliver Hart returned
from Stites, Idaho, Thursday evening after
having been there several days on business
connected with the Hart-Rice trade of lands
that was recently made.
William Kik, a well known rancher
of the fourth unit north of town, was
a guest over Sunday night in this city
of Alvin Barnes, while on his way
home from a business trip to Pendle
ton.
Postmaster J. H. Young was in Pendleton
Wednesday delving into documents of a real
estate nature at the county court house.
He was accompanied home by Mrs Rhoda
Johnson, mother of Mrs. Young, who will
visit here a couple of weeks.
Mrs. M. D. Scoggs delightfully er-
tertained a large number of ladies at
her home on South Hill Monday after-
noon in honor of Miss Bessis McPher
son, who departed for her home in
Pendleton the following day.
Mr. and Mrs L. L. Boynton depart
ed Friday of last week to make their
future home in Bremerton.

there at his trade, that of carpenter

Mrs. W. B. Beasley, her daughter,
Mrs. R. L Barnard, and her sister-in-
law, Mrs. D. Beasley, who is here on
a visit from Weiser, Idaho, passed

F. A. Chezik, manager of the Farmers'
Exchange in this city, went to the hospital
in Pendleton the fore part of the week suffer
ing from la grippe that bordered on pneu
monia. Mrs. Chezik, who returned from
