co rder w as in stru c ted to advertise
for bids for grading and graveling
c e rta in stree ts, and re p a irs to
w alks w ere ordered in several lo­
cations. Im provem ents a re going
fo rw ard on K enney stree t, th e g ra d ­
ing being finished and the graveling
w ell u nder way.
Bids w ill be called for on th e
g rad in g and graveling of E a rl
stre e t in C lauahan addition, on
K elly avenue from Powell stre e t to
Division stre e t, and on F ou rth
stre e t from Hood avenue to E lliott
avenue, a distance of th ree blocks.
T he specifications call for grading
to be 36 feet wide, and to conform
to the grade as fixed by thh city
engineer. The graveling will be 12
feet wide, 8 inches deep In the cen­
te r and sloping to six inches at the
sides.
A petition w as presented, signed
by about 50 resid en ts of th e n o rth ­
ea st section of the city, for a side­
w alk along th e p roperty of th e
M ultnom ah County F a ir association
on Main street, a distance of about
500 feet. No action w as tak en by

the student loan fund of th e church,
