The fam ily resided in Iowa and la ter in N ebraska an d cam e to Oregon in U N , settlin g first in Powell Valley and moving to C ottrell two y ears later. E arly in young m anhood he was converted w hile residing at W alla W alla, W ashington, and joined the M ethodist E piscopal church. Upon coining to C ottrell, he joined the M ethodist ch u rch at P lea san t Home and continued a faith fu l m em ber u n til death. T he deceased ren d ered notable service in ch u rch , S unday school and school d istrict. For 35 y ears he w as tre a s u re r of th e Sunday school. He w as a valued an d e n e r­ getic m em ber of the P aren t-T ea ch ­ er association. Because of his many and varied activ ities and in ­ te re sts, he w ill be g reatly missed.
