T hey had been Inspired by th e re ­ cen t organization of th e “P io n eers” am ong the boys of th e school, and w ere eager to have som ething along sim ila r lines for themselves. Since plans w ere under way a l­ ready looking tow ard the form ation of "G irl R eserve" groups, Mr, Q uicksall took up the m atter w ith th e women w orking for th a t p u r­ pose and, as a resu lt, an en th u sias­ tic m eeting w as held at the grade school building th is m orning, when th e g irls of th e 7th and 8th grades and an y in th e 6th grade who bad reached th e age of 12 years w ere told of the w ork of the Girl Re­ serves by Miss E rm a H ardin and Miss Norma Sim s of the P ortland Y. W. C. A. T heir accounts of the various activities of th e organ iza­ tion w ere so a ttra c tiv e th a t m ore th an 50 g irls expressed a desire to Join.
