e r" ; facto ry hands sent th e boys
out reg u la rly to fetch th e ir hottie

loons. Everybody knew of th ese
breach es of th e law, but th e fra m ­
ers of th e law had tak en ca re to
m ake It very difficult to p ro cu re
legal evidence of th e se breaches.
The public conscience w as pricked
a little when the n ew spaper told it
th a t one of th e youths sent for
liquor had dru n k so m uch of IP th a t
he fell into a stupor, took refuge in
"U se W ant Ada”—a good adage.
