Boswell en ­ joyed a trip up the Columbia River highw ay Sunday afternoon and they rep o rt th a t beginning directly th e o th e r side of S pringdale and con tinuing to Sum m it, a distance of p erh ap s five m iles, th e re was stro n g evidence of an old fashioned silver thaw . T elephone and elec­ tric light poles and w ires w ere down and ice covered boughs and w ires in some places th ree inches in thickness. T hey did not proceed to Crown Point and around th e fig­ u re eight for fear of getting caught on the icy highw ay w ithout proper ’ p recautions for tires. Mr. Boswell reported th a t for sev eral m iles scarcely a pole w as stan d in g belonging to the Columbia T elephone com pany. The w ires form ed a tangled m ass w hich the linem en a re endeavoring to re sto re to order. Man Robbed N ear 12-Mlle C orner.
