iness for them by some necessary ren
ovations. On Friday evening the Rev.
and Mrs. Shogren will be tendered a
reception at the church to which all

An Anti-Saloon meeting will be held
at the Swedish Mission church Tues
day evening, October 5. An address
will be given by Attorney Elisha A.
Baker, president of the Oregon Anti-
Saloon League. A motion picture film
will be shown.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Paape and baby
have moved from Bend, Oregon, and
for the present are with Mrs. Paape's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. tyihn Ickler.
They have purchased 20 acres of Mr.
Ickler on Victory Heights and are

Medford will dedicate a new $25,000
Woodman of the World building Sun
day, October 3d. Invitations have been
issued and thousands of Woodmen
from all over California and Oregon
are expected to be present over the
week end for the ceremonies.
Medford has been making plans for
months for this celebration, and has
arranged an elaborate banquet tor
Saturday evening, with a dance fol
lowing. J. O. Wilson; clerk of Mult
nomah Camp 77, has been selected to
officiate.
Just a little less than a year ago
Clerk J. O. Wilson assisted the Hon.
1. I. Boak, Head Consul of the Wood
men of the World, in the dedication of
Multnomah Camp 77’s great new $250,-
000 building, one of the finest frater
nal homes In the country and a mon
ument to Wilson's nearly 20 years of
ceaseless endeavor and the realiza
tion of a vision born many years ago.
When J. O. Wilson became clerk of
Multnomah Camp, about 17 years ago,
there were about 1000 members and
today Camp 77 Is the largest W. O. W.
Camp in the world, with over 7000
members.
Several years ago at Grand Camp
session, the popularity of Clerk Wil
son was demonstrated when he was
elected to the board of head mana
gers as chairman. It is no doubt In
recognition of his accomplishments
that Head Consul I. I. Boak has dele
gated J. O. Wilson from the Head
Camp officers to this place of honor as
chief dedicating officer In charge of
ceremonies to represent the Head
Consul and the Head Camp of the or
der.
Clerk Wilson will lead a caravan of
20 or 30 automobiles, leaving Port
land at 5 o'clock Saturday morning,
arriving in Medford In the afternoon
to attend the Saturday afternoon pro
gram. Sunday will be devoted to the
dedication ceremonies, in which Dep
uty Head Consul F. B. Tlchenor, Dis
trict Manager Adolph Oerwin. Assist
ant Clerk W. H. Mitchell and others of
Portland will participate. The Port
land caravan will leave Medford early
Monday morning reaching Portland
that afternoon.
