Claude Stockton, who underw ent the
am p u tatio n of a toe on th e left foot
tw o w eeks ago today, is now able to
get around again w ith th e aid of
cru tch es. Y ears ago th e cords of bis
foot had been cu t and had not healed
properly, cau sin g the m iddle toe to lap
over onto th e next one. T his had
caused him con sid erab le difficulty and
recen tly he decided on having th e toe
rem oved w hich w as done w ith th e aid
of a local an aesth etic. W hile he su f
fered co n siderably for several days
follow ing th e rem oval of the m em ber,
he Is now m uch relieved and g ettin g
along well. T he operation w as p e r
form ed in G resham .
