by Dr. G eorge F. T u ck er for a co u n
try home, and th e doctor, like m any
o th er prom inent business men of P o rt
land, would drive in and o ut each day.
The doctor how ever, lived to enjoy his
co u n try e sta te but a few y ea rs; on
his passing his widow w as at a loss,
for a few m onths, as to th e fu tu re of
th is home, as she too, enjoyed th e
co u n try life, the location and th e home
like people w ith w hich G resham is
surrounded.
Mrs. T u ck er had g ard e n s of b eau ti
ful flow ers ju st being cu ltiv ated for
p leasu re and a rtis tic se ttin g for w hich
so m any of th e G resham hom es are
noted. Many people had adm ired her
d ah lias T hen th e idea cam e to her as
S everal im p o rtan t im provem ents
have been m ade during the past year

pany, four m iles east of G resham in

G riesel and Jacob F eser, have planted
about 60 ac res to roses, besides they
