GRESHAM WOMAN HAS
»JTII ANNIVERSARY
a t th e door to w hisk the city folks off
fo r a day’s outing to Mt. Hood or the
seashore.
A lthough no aeroplan es
w ere circling overhead to give a th rill
to the day's p leasures and although no
radio broadcasting statio n was on
hand to d istrib u te the o ra to r's w ords
to a w aiting w orld, everyone seemed
to have a good tim e. Someone read
tlie D eclaration of Independence in a
clea r tone, th e re w ere p ean u ts and
pink lem onade and a fte r th e close of
th e day’s festivities all clam bered into
the ox-draw n c a rt ami began th e long
trip Inw ard th eir forest home.
A fter the death of her husband in
1892 Mrs. L innem ann stayed on the
old home place a t L innem ann for two
y ears a fte r w hich she moved to G resh
am w here she has spent the tim e since
then. Much of tills tim e she has taken
ca re of herself, doing the cooking and
atten d in g to o th e r household duties.
She was raised a L u th e ra n but for
nearly 20 y ears past has been iden ti
fied w ith th e M ethodist Episcopal
ch u rc h in G resham . Because of the
splendid liberallty of th is good woman
at the tim e llie M ethodist church was
built h ere in 1907, th e place is known
as and w as dedicated as the Linne
m ann Memorial church.
She is now quietly w aiting th e sum
m ons w hich shall call her from e a rth
ly scenes of activity to o th e r realm s.
