th e first ra th e r com plete re p o rt w as
m ade of the finances of th e rec en t
fair. S ecre tary H. J. P u lfe r rep o rted
th e rec eip ts of the fa ir to have been
n ea rly $37,000 w ith a few’ item s still
o u tstanding. T aking into account all
th e bills on hand and estim atin g some
o th e r item s not yet billed it appeared
th e net proceeds from th e fair w ould
be betw een $500 an d $1000.
T hese figures and e stim a tes cover
only th e y e a r’s fair and do not in
clude th e new w ork, such as th e en
tra n c e arch, bleachers, etc.
NEW ROAR BUILDING
TO DODGE PARK
T he steep g rad e of th e C rissey hill
on the pipe line road w est of Dodge
P a rk w ill in th e fu tu re be elim inated
by the new grad e a m ile in length ;
w hich is being made. The g rad e of i
th e old road is estim ated to be from
10 to IS per cent and v ery narro w
and difficult in places. T he new road
w ill be not over 6.4 per c e n t grad e
and w ill req u ire th e services of 25
m en several m onths before th e w ork
is com pleted. R. E. K rem ers of P o rt
land is in ch arg e of th e c o n tra c t for
the co n stru ctio n of th e new bridges
ac ro ss th e Sandy a t Dodge P a rk and
acro ss th e Bull R un riv ers.
