ITTLE has been said in print about the Wood-
stock —but much has been said by thousands
of enthusiastic operators.
It's mainly this background of good will—earned
by good performance—that is responsible for its
success.
Users will tell you the Woodstock is a most excep
tional typewriter—a composite of all improvements
conducive to effortless writing—plus a rare beauty
of type and sturdiness of construction that stamps
this machine as a thing apart.

HIGH FAY FOR “TALK.”
P resid en t Coolidge signed th e de

Increase In pay of rep rese n tativ es and

cause he realized th e fact th a t th e law
gives the co nstitution a rig h t to m em

aries. W hile to thousands of persons
thro u g h o u t th e land a sa lary of $10,-
000 a year ap p e ars to be a large sum,
yet when th e expenses of a m em ber of
th e house, or senate, a re taken Into
consideration, tog eth er w ith the ex
trem ely high cost of living In Wa«h
Ington, it will be ap p a ren t to every

T he reg u la r session of th e sen ate of
th e last congress w as, from a ste n o

th a t has been held for m any years.
O ther sh o rt sessions for the p ast d ec

language, but a large portion of the
record has consisted of the variety
know n as "p re p a re d ” speeches, the
kind th a t a sen ato r delivers by read
Ing th e first few lines of his address
and then asking perm ission to hav
