“I AM FOR ECONOMY. AFTER THAT
I AM FOR MORE ECONOMY”-- Coolidge
He proved his faith by his works. This ad m in istra
tion has saved the people $6,000,000 daily in taxes as com
pared with 1921. It has lopped off 95,456 employes from
the federal payrolls.
I>a\\es, the budgeteer, put the country on a business
basis by cutting out the deadwood in governm ental affairs
Deficits in form er years have been turned into surpluses.
The national debt has been reduced $2,750,000,000 in three
years.
FOREIGN POLICY SPELLS PEACE ABROAD AND
PROSPERITY AT HOME
The Dawes plan has made possible rehabilitation of
Europe, which m eans better m arkets and better prices for
America s farm crops. Lim itation of arm am ents is an
adm inistration policy and makes for peace as well as re
duced costs of governm ent.
The Republican tariff, linked w ith restrictive im m i
gration. has brought prosperity to the man who toils.
V ages were never so high, they would never buy so much
as today.
COOLIDGE POLICIES HAVE RE-ESTABLISHED
PROSPE R IT Y—(’ON TIN CE THEM
W hen this adm inistration took office, it faced all the
problems of reconstruction. Deplorable conditions exist
ed. The people were suffering from a trem endous defla
tion. Interest was high and capital scarce. There was
general acute financial distress. Our citizens were com
pelled to sell their governm ent bonds around 85 th a t they
had bought in w artim e at par,

A complete change has been accomplished. Never be

people has replaced general distress. Industrially, the
country was never on firmer ground. Agriculture, in dire

a brightening future. Our depreciated governm ent bonds
