days there. As th is p a rk is co n tro lled
by th e go v ern m en t, th e re a re no hold
up prices o r o th e r conditions of like
n a tu re and th e ir stay in th is place
w as all too brief. Among m any places
of In te re st they to u red th e ten-sleep
canyon, so nam ed by th e In d ian s be
cau se it req u ired ten days for them to
m ake th e tr ip from Buffalo to Cody,
W yom ing,
T his canyon is only
eclipsed by th e G rand Canyon of the
Colorado. T hey re tu rn e d by w ay of a
new road called th e sh o rt cut or Cody
road, w hich sh o rte n s th e d istance
from th e e a st by 200 m iles.
