people w ere attended by Miss F ried a
P eterso n , siste r of th e groom , and
Newell F an ch er. T he sim ple c e re ­
mony w as w itnessed by only th e im ­
m ediate fam ilies of th e co n tra ctin g
p arties. A buffet lunch w as served
follow ing th e cerem ony. T he w ed­
ding gifts w ere b eau tifu l and costly.

w as 15 y ears old and w as b o rn at
Ione, Oregon. Ju ly 14. 1908.
T his com m unity is saddened by th e
sudden death of th is young girl, a
pupil in th e eighth g rad e of th e G re sh ­
am school.
She com plained in th e m orning of
not feeling well, but w ent to school as
usual. About 11 o'clock she w as ex ­
cused and w ent home. She was under
th e d o cto r's ca re b ut stead ily grew
worse. She had tw o sev ere con v u l­
sions and w as in m uch pain un til n ear
th e last. She w as conscious u n til
n ea r d eath, conversed w ith m em bers
of h e r fam ily and assu re d them of
h er read in ess to die.
T he d irect cau se of h er death w as
c e reb ral em bolus, a blood clot on th e
brain. An autopsy show ed a serio u s
stom ach d istu rb an ce, w ith h em o r­
rh ag e. W hat caused th is rem ain s un
determ ined. A ru m o r has spread th a t
she w as h it in th e reg io n of the stem
ach w ith a basket ball w hile at play at
school. It tru e, she said noth in g about
th is to h er p aren ts.
