GRESHAM LOCALS
The reg u lar m eeting of the G resh­
am W .'C. T. U. will be held a t th e
library on next T hursday afternoon.
All su p erin ten d en ts of departm en ts
will be p resent and officers of th e
union and plans will be laid for th e
ensuing year. This m eeting was fo r­
m erly announced fo r th e hom e of
Mrs. E. Davidson.
F ra n k Jones, Floyd Mack and L es­
lie W alrad left on S atu rd ay for e a st­
ern Oregon to shoot wild geese. They
expect to be well laden w ith gam e as
they will have the freedom of a 10,-
000 acre farm at Blalock and have
had word th a t th e geese a re p len ti­
ful. Mr. Jones may rem ain fo r a
week or two but th e o th ers are ex­
pected hom e th is week.

M ibb Inez, and Miss Em m a Johnson
w ere guests la st Sunday of Mr. and
Mrs. Itobt. Lansdow ne in Oregon City
Mrs. H. C. Larson is again able to !
be up and about th e house. She was
quite 111 again last week.

J. H. Cone has retu rn ed from Lone
Rock, w here he went th ree weeks ago
to look a fte r business m a tte rs and |
visit w ith his sons who are conduct­
ing his lum ber yard there. A Bhort
tim e before Mr. Cone w ent to eastern
Oregon he was on a business trip to
Gaston and w hile In th e hills n ear
th a t place discovered a still which
he reported to th e au th o rities. He has
since learned th a t th e still was de­
stroyed and the ow ner arrested .
T. D. Lym an underw ent a success­
ful opération for the rem oval of a
cancer recently. Dr. J. M. S hort per­
form ed th e operation a t th e Good
S am aritan hospital. Follow ing the
operation he Is taking X -ray tr e a t­
m ents b u t is doing well. He Is a t his
home here. T he grow th was removed j
from his face.
Mrs. Geo. T âcheron, who was so j
seriously 111 for a week o r ten days, |
is much Improved and Is slowly re ­
gaining h e r strength. She I r able to
bo up a p a rt of the tim e now.

C. W. Gleason left Monday for
P rineville w here he will have charge!
of the cream sta tio n for th e M utual
C ream ery com pany of P ortland. Mr.
Gleason recently received a s ta te li­
cense as a te ste r and scored 100 per
cent on th e test although it had been
about eight years since he had done
th a t sort of work. Mrs. Gleason and
th e children will rem ain In Gresham
for a w hile a t least.
A lbert K rld er has gone to Prosser,
W ashington on a business trip.

Mr. and Mrs. Jo h n Conley the past
week. They stopped here on their
re tu rn from a trip to Vancouver. U. ,
