The buildings are bursting with exhibits and the grounds are crowded with attractions. Days and evenings will be replete with entertaining programs, races and features. Give the whole family a chance to enjoy the fair. MANY HORSES ENTERED FOR HARNESS EVENTS EXCELLENT EXHIBITS BY COUNTY GRANGES A m ost refreshing, in stru ctiv e and in te restin g display is th e line of seven of th e n ine granges of M ultno m ah county, a rran g e d along an en tire side of th e pavilion. R efreshing is the word. T he vivid colors of th e preserved and n a tu ra l fru its, set off w ith th e greens, reds, ru ssets of the trim m in g s adhered to by th e various g ran g es are a refre sh m e n t and rest to th e eye. As an educational fe a tu re th e large v ariety of fru its, g rain s and veget ables is a revelation. I t is doubtful if th e average P o rtlan d resident would believe th a t all of th e species show n by th e gran g es a re Oregon products. In fact m any people would th in k they w ere looking a t a collec tion of varieties from a m ore tro p i cal state. All th a t they lack is oranges to com pete w ith C alifornia. T he seven exhibits a re consider ably alik e in the m a tte r of species grow n, m ost of th e varieties being com mon all over th e county. P re served fru its, grains, fresh fru its and vegetables com prise each. I t is in tho arran g e m en t th a t a rtistry and sim ple good ta ste has been displayed. All b u t one have selected a foliage ceiling, choosing a ch a racteristic schem e w ith one p a rtic u la r foliage.
