An appeal is again being m ade to
th e public for aid In caring for un
fo rtu n a te girls and babies by th e
Pacific Coast Rescue and P rotective
Society. T his w orthy society con
ducts missions, rescue homes, n u r
series and settlem ents in all the
principal cities of th e Pacific Coast
sta te and depends largely on th e
generosity of the public for financial
aid In carrying on th e work.
T he in stitu tio n s best known in
this vicinity are the A lbertina K err
N ursery in P ortlan d and th e Louise
H om e n ear G resham . I t is the ef
fo rt of th e m anagem ent to give to
these babies and girls, who often
come to th e hom e In a run-dow n con
dition, wholesome food, of which
fru it and vegetables form a large
part.
F ru it, vegetables, potatoes
and eggs are needed. F ou rteen doz
en eggs a week are used for the
babies alone.
D onations will be gladly received
from church and ch aritab le o rg an i
zations and from interested indivi
duals. The society will send Jars,
rubbers, tops, etc., on request to the
general superintendent, W. G. Mac-
Laren.
