his son F ra n k who is in F ran ce. It
was w ritten on N ovem ber 23, th e
day se t aside fo r th e A. E. F. to
w rite to th e ir fath e rs. Such le tte rs

w ere free to tell alm o st everything.

tory of th e e m b a rk a tio n from New
Y ork, says Mr. Brow n in sp eak in g of

experiences of being chased by su b ­

B rest, w here P re sid e n t W ilson lan d ­
ed a few days ago. F ra n k describes
it as “ one sloppy and d irty hole.”

w ent from th e re by train a b o u t 100
m iles into F ra n c e to A ngers, which
he says is a very p re tty place w ith a
