A cam paign to prom ote farm rec­
ord keeping has been planned jo in t­
ly by th e O regon S tate B a n k ers’ as
sociation, th e Oregon A g ricu ltu ral
College, and th e U. S. D epartm ent of
A g ricu ltu re.
"T h e p ro ject will encourage and
assist fa rm e rs to keep financial and
cost of p roduction reco rd s," explains

been em phasized by th e g o v ern ­
m en t's req u irem en t th a t nearly ail
farm ers m ust subm it incom e tax r e ­
ports, to d eterm in e w h eth e r they are
su b ject to th e incom e tax. T his need
is fu rth e r em phasized in th e scant
recognition given to farm ers by price-
fixing com m issions engaged in fixing
prices on farm produce, because ac­
c u ra te d a ta is lacking.
G roups of farm ers in nine counties
have alread y agreed to co-operate
with tile h an k ers and th e college In
o b ta in in g am i reco rd in g production
cost. Sim ple, uniform farm records
have been p rep ared an d will he su p ­
plied to th e furm ers th ro u g h the
county a g e n ts and farm bureau.
One m ore county g ro u p will he ac­
cepted by Mr. G unn, who says that
he can bundle ten g roups next year.
Officers of th e b u n k ers' association
say th a t tile first issue of 300 record
hooks is only one th ird enough to
suppy th e dem and th a t will he c re a t­
ed by th e cam paign.
